This Just In...

The FAA has just put out a notification that they do not condone double-fisted drinking in their pilots. When asked to comment, Captain Elmo claims, "they were just going to grandmas" and that Maxwell is "his favorite co-pilot." Though the skies were a little turbulent, they came in for a smooth landing and no one was injured.

Ah-ha Moment

Just now, while I was snuggling Max before his nap, I had the most amazing ah-ha moment. Sitting there, looking down at his face and thinking, I am someones mommy. I will always be Maxwell's mommy and that is the most important thing to remember. His health, happiness and security are my only priority. I have had a pretty rough week, this last week, with some pretty low lows and some pretty good highs, but I have to keep in mind that Max is the most important thing in the world. The decisions that I make, that we make as a family, are all centered around what is best for Max. Looking at his sleeping face, I cried and made a promise to be the best mommy I could. How could anyone do any less when they look into the face of their child.

New Foods

These last two weeks have been full of firsts and lots of seconds. No, Max is not walking yet. However, I think it should be coming along any time now. Max is certainly adding more silliness to his personality. He has become quite the talker, jibberish of course, but super cute all the same. He keeps up a non-stop dialogue with anyone who will listen and boy does he ever flirt!! He is better at it then I ever was. He lowers his head a little and looks up at you with a smile and those pretty blue eyes. I don't even want to think about the girls that will be calling the house at all hours when he gets older.

Here is a great self portrait, by the daddy, of my two bestest boyes. Nope, no resemblance there!

This is a great picture, for Uncle Loren, Uncle Dave, Uncle Neighbor Mike, and daddy. Maxwell Jones the future lead singer of their rock band. Of course, by the time he is aloud into the club, they will be getting senior citizen discounts. Who knows, maybe he will start rocking out early. He totally grooves when daddy plays the guitar. When Uncle Neighbor Mike comes over, Max bobs his head to Rush with him and daddy.

We tried scarmbled eggs for the first time. He really seemed to like them with a little salt and some of mommies dried chives from the garden. He actually fed himself. He even had little pieces of buttered toast. But it gets better...

PIZZA!!! It seemed like forever since we splurged and got a pizza. I had a really crazy busy day at work and daddy was helping some friends build a small school house on Saturday and neither one of us wanted to cook so Max got to try his first pizza. And what do you know...he liked it. Now if we can just get him to like chocolate, then we know he is really your kid. He also played his first game of chew and show.

Here is where the personality comes in. We did not put that sippy cup on his head. He did! He also likes to put it behind his back, next to him in the seat, where ever. What a goofball!

Daddy has been asking me to give Max's hair a trim and I just never seem to have the time. But as you can see by this Maxhawk, his hair is getting pretty long and it is really thick to. I have already saved some from his first haircut for his baby book, but I feel like I should be saving all of it. Weird, I know. I'll get over it.

This picture was a couple of nights later. We played with Aunty Dixie's birthday gift. Soapy crayons!! I was shocked that he actually colored with them and did not try to eat them right away. I think daddy was having a little fun also. Thanks Aunty Dixie! We still have 5 whole ones left to break!

Good thing are coming around the corner everyday! Max keeps getting bigger, more teeth and happier. We keep falling more and more in love with him. I can't even remember my life without him. Okay, maybe the sleeping in late and lying in bed reading a book. Soon Max will be right there next to us doing the same thing. By then I really will have forgotten.

Birthday Correction

Hi Everyone,
I realized with my last post that it made it seem like Maxwell's birthday was on September 12th. That was when I actually posted the birthday pictures. His actual birthday is August 14th, at 2:20 pm. I am told I will never forget the time, so that is why I am including it.

I also thought I would post a funny picture that Terry took tonight of Max under his walker checking out the spinners. He really enjoys turning over his cars and elmo airplane to "check out the engine."  Such a little boy!

Happy 1st Birthday Maxwell!!

Can you believe it? Max has turned 1!! Everyday I wake up and think...oh my gosh it's early!! Really Maxwell, are you sure you want to be waking up right now? Then I smile and think...oh my gosh...I have a son! We have a son! He is healthy, happy and filled with personality, from his thick, sandy blonde hair to his light bulb toes that he inhertited from his father. It is quite a change from the blob that he was in the beginning. Cute, but not very interactive.
We have been so blessed to have such a good baby. Friends say that he is the "sucker" baby. He is so good and easy that he suckers you into having another one and WHAMO!! The next baby is colicy and high maintenance. Sometimes I think about having another one. Max needs a little brother or sister, oh brother, a sister, to grow up just like me. Oh no! Not going to happen! I do not want to raise a little me. Besides, how do you divide your love. I already love Maxwell more then I love myself or Terry. How does a parent spread themself so thin. Max is all I need, especially right now. I have learned so much about myself and the person I want to be for him. Sometimes I can't wait for him to grow up and at the same time I want to keep him the way he is today.
I was so glad that my dad could finally come up to see Max! He has been unable to get away until now and it was such a bittersweet, short visit. I really miss having my family so close to me. It would be so great to have my them so closer and to have Max grow up knowing his Gramma and Grandpa. On a positive note my mom finally stepped into the 21st century and is now surfing the net. At least she gets to see all of the fan club updates and pictures. Soon, I hope, we might also be able to try skypeing. I am so proud of her for opening her mind to computers.

I am so excited about my foray into blogging. I hope that all of Maxwell's Fan Club will become followers. I will do my best to keep up with the postings on a regular basis. At least every two weeks, at the very least, once a month. I am so grateful to all of his fan club members for being so forthcoming with advice and anecdotal tidbits. The most important thing that I have learned this past year, it really does take a village! Thank you!
