Big Boy Toys

Today was Terry's birthday! Happy Birthday Daddy!! We celebrated by going to the zoo. It was an amazing day. It was sunny, warm and absolutely beautiful. We saw lots of animals and even had lunch there. Then we went and hung out at the Family Farm area. There were lots of goats, sheep, cows and pigs. There even was a miniature donkey. They have an area with an old tractor that the kids can climb on. Max loved it!

He really looks like he knows what he is doing. One hand on the wheel, the other on the gear shift.
We had a great time at the zoo and with our Zoo Pass we will be headed there as often as possible.

We have been trying to take advantage of the nice weather, inbetween all of the rainy days, and take walks around town. During one of our excursions we happened upon a trackhoe. Max had watched the same trackhoe spreading dirt and bark mulch around the park earlier in the week. We let Max climb inside and...
 for a little perspective.
He really loves anything that moves and is really big!
He also loves wheels that he can take to bed. He regularly naps with his Ducati!
If that isn't love I don't know what is!

To celebrate the coming of Summer, it is coming right?? We got Max a sandbox and some sand toys. After the zoo today and a very long nap we had an inaugural sand party.
I think he really enjoyed himself. You could see his hand-eye coordination improve in minutes. At first he was just throwing sand around using the shovel. He watched both his dad and I put some sand in the turning wheel and into the bucket and suddenly he was doing the same thing. It was awesome to see the progression.
He would put the sand into the top and then watch to see what would happen as it drained out into the turning wheel and it spun around.
"Did you see that? It went out the hole at the bottom!"
That is my big boy. Everyday he is getting bigger and smarter. I love watching him learn new things.

Happy Mother's Day

What a fabulous Mother's Day! The boys let me sleep in and then made me french toast for breakfast. I felt like a princess. I even got a present with a hand scribbled card. Terry translated it for me. It said, "Your the best mommy ever and I love you!" I get teary-eyed just thinking about the black ink scrawl.
Terry says that Max did a really good job of helping this year and put all of the little stones in all by himself. I can't wait until I have a garden to display this beautiful stone.

I hope everyone has an equally great Mother's Day!
