Adele's #1 Fan

A friend from work introduced me to Adele at the begining of last year and I bought her first cd, then her second. Appearently I have been listening to it alot recently. Maxwell has begun to sing, Rumor Has It, in the car quite a bit. He even asks to listen to her if I don't have it playing. Tonight we were treated to a bathtub performance of My Same. Here it is...

How cute is that? He doesn't know the words but he loves the tune!

Isabel is 8 Months Old

WOW!! How time flies! I can't believe how much she has grown. For my birthday she decided to start sitting up unsupported. This month, for her 8 month birthday, she sprouted her first tooth! I forgot how horrible teething is. Oh wait...was Maxwell this droolie? I don't remember.

 So much cuteness!

Starting to like the camera.

Isabel continues to show us her personality. Tonight we decided that she definetly takes after her daddy, while Maxwell takes after me. She is so different then he was as a baby. She is still quite the talker, yeller and squealer. She now lifts up her arms when she wants to be picked up. It is so wonderfully heart warming.
She is working her way around the solid food selections. We have tried peas (not good), carrots (loves them), sweet potato (yum), squash (yum), mango (YUM) and more. She is getting pretty good at it. We are trying to not be so fastidious with her and let her have some fun with eating. Instead of cleaning her up after every spoonful. She has even started smooshing rice cakes all over the place. She is still soooo happy! She thinks her brother is a giant giggle maker and adores his kisses. She even sounds like Maxwell when he laughs. She leans in to our kisses and presses her head against our lips. It melts me!

Super happy baby!

That's my big brother. Nope, we don't look alike at all!!

Unofficially, she is weighing in at about 16 pounds. We have her 9 month check up in a few weeks and I will get a proper weight then. She does seem to be stretching out also. We are slowly moving up in clothes sizes. For the last week or so she has been trying to figure out how to crawl. She was working so hard at it today that she tired herself out and she napped for about an hour and a half. She still isn't the best napper, but she is working on it.

We love her more each day and are so happy she is part of our family.

First Musical Concert

Maxwell put on his first musical concert for an adoring fan today. It was the sweetest thing I have every witnessed. I had the presence of mind to grab the camera, as fast as possible and start recording.

Maxwell got his harmonica from his friend Jake for his birthday. It took awhile for him to get the hang of it, but he really digs it.

Swimming with Daddy

It has been close to a year since we have been able to take Maxwell swimming. I feel horrible about that. I have a good excuse though, I have been kind of busy. The last time we went it was just Maxwell and I and I was pregnant. It felt great to be in the water, but he requires constant attention in the pool and I obviously can't do it by myself with both kids.
So back to the pool we went on Friday with daddy and Isabel in tow. Maxwell has started to not like the water so much. As evident by his dislike of bath night. You would think we were pouring acid on him with the way he reacts when we want to wash his hair.
Well, it has translated to the pool. He doesn't like getting splashed in the face so he doesn't do much reaching and kicking anymore. So, swim lessons, here we come. I love the water. I feel totally at home in any body of water and I want Maxwell to enjoy it to.

He has a smile on his face the entire time in the water.

He does a good job of working at it while we hold him. He also loves the noodles. He puts them under his arms and goes everywhere in the pool by himself.

He is a bit of a cling-on when he finally gets tired.

Isabel had a good time I think. She did lots of back floating and front floating and even did really good under the water. Sadly, I did not get any pictures of her in the pool or out. I will try next time we go. She looked adorable in her fuzzy pink bathrobe that Nana C got for her.

In the end, a good time had by all. We will try to go again before Terry goes back to school.

Amazing Blog Discovery

One of my great friends just forwarded me a link to an amazing blog. The most recent post titled, "Parenting I Quit," sums up how I feel about parenting sometimes. Terry and I both laughed heartily at the last entry. Parenting is hard and though sometimes I have no words to describe how I feel, she summed it up for me, including the crappy pictures.

Check it out for a good laugh.

Another great blog from a child's perspective is, The Honest Toddler. If you want a good laugh, check it out. I have posted links on the blogs I follow section.

Eyebrows

I don't know where he gets this stuff! Whenever he gets angry or frustrated he makes the most fantastic faces. Lately whenever we point the camera at him the same, "no paparazzi, please" face takes over. I don't know where we went wrong. It couldn't be the thousands of pictures we took of him as a baby and over the last three and a half years of his life!?! What is a mom to do?
The funny part is, when he is angry and throws a face, it is so hard not to laugh at him. He is ridiculously goofy looking.
Here is the proof...

It isn't just us he reserves the faces for, he does them at school. Whenever they ask him to do something he doesn't want to do.

Stupid cute, right? You try not to laugh! I dare you!
